WebJun 17, 2015 · I had one of the Dimarzio EJ neck humbuckers in my Tele, it sounded good, but it was a bit too bright and hi-fi for my tastes. It might work well in a dark sounding guitar but I didn't care for it too much in this particular Tele , ash body, maple neck. I didn't find it to be particularly "Gretsch" sounding either, but it was very clear toned.
